During my one-year residency at the factory, I became drawn to a pit in the open space, which sparked my curiosity about the location’s past. I explored this connection and developed a dialogue between myself and the environment. Influenced by Yi-Fu Tuan’s concept, “Place is security, space is freedom,” this dialogue evolved into an exploration of decay, time, and the impact of the environment on objects.
Environmental elements like rain and sunlight altered the images I captured of the pit, erasing parts and leaving new marks made by nature. These changes transformed the pictures into records of the interaction between the environment and the artwork. My goal is to create a link between my life, these fading images, and the construction of new structures, symbolizing a fragile refuge in a constantly shifting, crisis-ridden world. As part of the project, the work will continue to evolve organically throughout its exhibition.
